Consultancy is given in the set-up and enhancement of safety management systems. This service is provided to help organisations to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, or its local equivalent. The model normally adopted is that described in HSE’s publication "Successful Health and Safety Management" (HSG 65). The model of BS8800 can also be used. This approach also meets the requirements of the Control Of Major Accident Hazard Regulations (COMAH). This approach can also be modified for work in other parts of the European Community, and elsewhere.

Should assistance be required by organisations using ISRS, assistance can be provided via Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
