Philip Charsley is an independent Consultant, providing advice and training in the fields of safety management, risk assessment and Hazard and Operability Studies. He also provides services related to the International Safety Rating System via his former employers, DNV.

Company Profile

Until early 1998 he was a full-time consultant in the Management Services unit of DNV This unit provides Safety Management System consultancy for clients in UK, and for multinational groups whose headquarters are in UK. These services include those related to the International Safety Rating System (ISRS)

Until the end of 1992 he was Director of Technology of DNV Technica Ltd, responsible for the development and uniformity of all technology used within that company. He was responsible for technical staff development and training, and also for the provision of external training courses.

He gained recognition for his work in the field of industrial safety in 1986, when he was elected to the register of Safety and Loss Prevention Specialists of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He was elected a Member of the Institution of Training and Development in 1991 (now the Institute of Personnel and Development).
